Who we are

The Rod & Reel is one of the oldest and most distinguished "family-run" resorts in Sioux Narrows. First introduced to Sioux Narrows in 1937, Chauncey Motlong established the Rod & Reel in 1944. Originally consisting of a hamburger stand and 5 cabins, the operation now boasts a 4 story main lodge, 10 cabins, complete marina, a beautiful sand beach, bakery, boat storage and a private restaurant. Throughout the history of the Rod & Reel, our main goal has been to help create unforgettable fishing holidays. Quality accommodations with traditional "Northwoods" hospitality and personalized service help turn simple vacations into Family Traditions, that keep our guests coming back year after year and from one generation to the next.

Our Location

Sioux Narrows was named for an early Indian Battle. A raiding party of Sioux Warriors was ambushed – in the narrows separating Whitefish and Regina Bay – by the local Ojibwa. Fierce fighting ensued and the Sioux were annihilated.

The Rod & Reel Resort is located near the spot of this early battle.

Located on beautiful Lake of the Woods in the small town of Sioux Narrows – our camp situated on the confluence of two bays – Regina Bay and Whitefish Bay.
